Get a free, clean-energy backup battery to operate your medical device during an outage. And, should the power outage be an emergency that\u00a0requires you to evacuate, this portable, temporary power may help while you relocate to safety.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/human-services-agency\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2023\/08\/BePrepared_vcalert_SCEMedicalBaseline.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Be Prepared for an Emergency Flyer (English &amp; Spanish)<\/a><\/p>\n<ul class=\"arrow-list\">\n<li>The Critical Care Backup Battery (CCBB) Program provides a free portable backup battery and solar panel to eligible customers who depend on medical equipment for life-support purposes.<\/li>\n<li>Battery solution helps power critical medical equipment during a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event or other type of emergency.<\/li>\n<li>Eligible customers must be enrolled in SCE\u2019s Medical Baseline program and identified as critical care customers relying on life-support equipment, enrolled in SCE\u2019s CARE\/FERA income-qualified bill assistance program, and live in a high fire-risk area. To determine if you reside in a high fire-risk zone, visit the CPUC High Fire-Risk Map at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/capuc.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/webappviewer\/index.html?id=5bdb921d747a46929d9f00dbdb6d0fa2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">capuc.maps.arcgis.com<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Customers who meet these eligibility requirements will receive a letter from SCE inviting them to participate in the program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How does the CCBB Program work?<br \/>\n<\/strong>In one simple phone call, an SCE-approved contractor will verify your eligibility, determine the battery size for your current medical device(s), and arrange an appointment for delivery.
