They can also opt out completely.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Foster Family \u2013 Extended<\/strong><strong>Foster<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Care<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 appropriate for emerging adults who need more time to develop their independent living skills.<br>Emerging adults who reach agreements with their current foster families to continue living with them, but who need more time to develop their independent living skills, will enter into a Foster Family \u2013 Extended Foster Care placement arrangement. Under this arrangement,&nbsp;<em style=\"background-color: transparent;text-align: var(--text-align)\"><strong>the foster parents will continue to receive the approved basic rate (plus any other allowable special reimbursements)<\/strong><\/em><span style=\"background-color: transparent;text-align: var(--text-align)\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Supervised Independent Living \u2013 Extended Foster Care<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 reserved for emerging adults with adequate independent living skills.<br>Emerging adults who reach agreements with their current foster families to continue living with them, and who have adequate independent living skills, will enter into a \u201csupervised independent living \u2013 extended foster care\u201d arrangement.
