Parvin<\/strong><br role=\"presentation\" data-uw-rm-sr=\"\" \/><strong>County of Ventura, Fourth District<\/strong><\/p><p>Janice Parvin was elected to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors representing the Fourth District in November 2022 and sworn into office January 2023. Previously, she served the City of Moorpark as the elected Mayor from December 2008 to December 2022 and as a Councilmember from 2002 to 2008, during which time she focused on such issues as public safety, fiscal management, acquisition of open space, parks and recreation, affordable housing, senior services and veteran\u2019s needs.<\/p><p>Professionally, Supervisor Parvin previously owned, a multilingual communications company. Her prior employment included the Los Angeles County Deputy Marshal\u2019s office, Coca Cola USA, Kavlico Corporation, Fibermux Corporation, ADC Telecommunications, Accelerated Networks, Malibu Networks and Comcore Semiconductor.<\/p><p>Supervisor Parvin\u2019s public leadership includes serving as two times Chair of the Planning Commission, and Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission. Janice served on the Board of Director\u2019s for the California League of Cities, and is Past President of Channel Counties Division of the California League of Cities; and serves on Ventura Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo). Supervisor Parvin was the Chair of the Successor Agency of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Moorpark, President of the Public Financing Authority, Chair of the Industrial Development Authority, and served on the Administration, Finance and Public Safety Committees. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Clean Power Alliance and is Chair of the Ventura County City Selection Committee and past Board of Director on the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County. Janice also serves on the Board of the Ventura Council of Governments \u201cVCOG,\u201d and served as Chair three times.<\/p><p>Supervisor Parvin has received extensive recognition for her community service. She was honored twice as Woman of the Year from the California State Assembly, and was also recognized by the State Assembly with the Outstanding Public Service Award. She also received the Legend Award, Public Servant of the Year Award, and Woman of the Year Award from the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce. Janice was recognized by the Daily News as a Fund Raiser Extraordinaire, has served on the American Cancer Society\u2019s Relay for Life Committee, and helped create the Rotary Club\u2019s Annual Civil War Reenactment and the 5k\/10k Mammoth Run which she Chair\u2019s each year. Supervisor Parvin is the Past President of the Rotary Club of Moorpark (2014\/15) and under her leadership as President, the Club received the honor of \u201cBest Medium Club\u201d in District 5240, as well as \u201cBest Overall Club in the District.\u201d Janice has received Rotarian of the Year twice in her 12 years in the Club. She served as President of the Boys &amp; Girls Club of Moorpark, and past Co-Chair of the Moorpark Simi Valley Boys &amp; Girls Club (during the merger of the Moorpark and Simi Clubs) and has served on the Board of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 502. Supervisor Parvin continues to serve on the Board of Directors of the Moorpark Simi Boys &amp; Girls Club.<\/p><p>The Fourth District includes the Cities of Moorpark, Simi Valley, Santa Susana Knolls, Box Canyon, Chatsworth Peak, Home Acres, Sinaloa Lake, Tierra Rejada Valley, The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Moorpark College.<\/p><p>Supervisor Janice Parvin is married to Dale Parvin and has two children, and two grandchildren.<\/p><p>Please do not hesitate to contact my office if we can be of any assistance to you on any county-related matter.
